Our design is One Scrap at a Time

Reusing archival materials and repurposing scraps is not only a sustainable choice —it’s part of millinery’s poetic legacy. A craft that has always embraced reinvention, not only out of creativity, but out of respect for precious and high-quality materials.
In line with our sustainable values, we aim to a near zero-waste approach: reusing archival stock, reworking trims, and transforming remnants into pieces of wearable beauty.

A PIOONEERING SPIRIT

Antonio Martello shaped Sardinia’s hat-making heritage, founding the island’s oldest hat shop in 1888 after a three-month sailing voyage from Friuli to Cagliari. But it was his daughter, Matilde, who carried the legacy with passion and quiet strength—guiding the family business for over 70 years, a true pioneer in a male-dominated craft.

    From artisans to designers, from clients to dreamers, we celebrate the extraordinary people shaping the new chapter of our hat shop. Beginning with the poetic restyling of Antica Cappelleria Martello in 2016 by Gamassi (Francesca Gasbarrini), flourishing through ongoing collaborations like Velette Sospette’s hat-making artistry, creative installations—including the honor of hosting Antonio Marras in 2021—photography, and storytelling. Every creation carries their vision, turning each corner and each hat into a living tribute of shared creativity, tradition, and timeless inspiration.
